Brussels Sprouts are a cool season crop, best grown in late summer to early autumn for an autumn/ winter harvest. Brussels Sprouts enjoy full sun, and well-drained, fertile soil that is high in organic matter. They will tolerate part shade although this will slow the maturing rate. A shallow rooting plant, ensure transplants are not too shallow and mulch to protect the roots. If conditions are too warm, aphids can be problematic but also removed with a strong spray of water.
Good companion plants – dwarf beans, beetroot, celery, cucumber, onion, silver beet and herbs
