Capsicum – California Wonder
Season – late winter/ early spring; Sow 6mm deep in seed trays; Plant out in 4-6 weeks; Plant spacing at 20-50cm; Germination period between 7 and 10 days; Soil temperatures between 18˚C and 35˚C; Harvest time approx. 10-12 weeks.
Capsicums are best sown in small seed trays and planted out when 10-12cm tall. A fragile seedling, it is best to house seed trays in a greenhouse or sheltered position. Capsicum plants are frost tender and need warmth to produce the rich, ripe colours of yellow and red. Too much nitrogen in the soil can produce lush growth but fewer fruits. Seeds can be saved for two years before expiring.
