Cumin is an annual herb that grows to 30-50cm in height. Cumin tolerates most soil conditions, but will perform better in well-drained, fertile soils. Sow indoors in late winter to prepare for the long growing season. Choose a sunny location as cumin prefers hotter weather, around 30˚C. Cumin plants will produce seeds for harvest in approximately four months. The leaves can also be harvested and used in salads.
Good companion plants– beetroot, cabbage, cucumber and potato.
