Spinach – Long Standing Bloomsdale
A popular market variety with large spreading leaves. A versatile spinach that can be used raw as baby spinach leaves in salads or cooked. On maturity the leaves darken to a deep green and are excellent in many cooked dishes.
Sow 12cm deep; Plant spacing at 20-30cm; Germination period up to 3 weeks; Soil temperatures between 10˚C and 25˚C; Harvest time approx. 5-11 weeks.
Sow spinach direct into the garden bed. Tolerates full sun or part shade. Needs consistent moisture and will quickly run to seed in warm weather. For best results, plant in well-drained, fertile soil, rich in organic matter.
