Thyme - Common
Season - late winter; Sow 3mm deep and cover with fine sieved sand; Plant spacing at 25-30cm; Germination period approx. 14 days; Soil temperatures between 15˚C and 21˚C; Harvest lightly in 1st year.
Thyme is a perennial herb that enjoys full sun and
well-drained, sandy soil in a dry environment. Avoid overwatering. Sow after
the last frost, and be prepared to wait as Thyme is slow to establish. Harvest
lightly the first year to help Thyme to establish. Can propagate by root
division from 3 to 4 year old plants.
