Broccoli  – Romanesco  

Romanesco broccoli is perhaps the most impressive vegetable you can grow. Its lime green hue and spiralling fractals are truly impressive, providing wonderful texture and a delicious flavour.

Sow at 6mm; Plant spacing at 35-50cm apart; Germination period between 5-16 days; Soil temperatures between 7˚C and 30˚C; Harvest time approx. 10-16 weeks.

Broccoli can be sown direct or in seedling trays. For best results, add compost or well-rotted manure before planting. If sown in trays, transplant seedlings at 4-6 weeks old. Seedlings need to be well watered or else they will bolt to seed. Cut mature broccoli head off with a knife, additional flower heads will grow as side shoots.
